A gunman fled the scene after an Amazon employee was fatally shot Thursday morning at the company’s fulfillment center in west suburban Melrose Park.Officers responded about 9:10 a.m. to a shooting at the Amazon facility’s parking garage in the 1800 block of 5th Avenue, a Melrose Park village sp okesperson said. The parking garage is only accessible to employees, he said.The man, whose age wasn’t known, suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, where he was later pronounced dead, the spokesperson said.The gunman fled the scene in a car, he said.About 60 employees were working at the facility at the time of the shooting, but no other injuries were reported.
