LOWCOUNTRY, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Public Health has confirmed a case of measles in the Lowcountry. Officials say the person is an adult in Hampton County who is unvaccinated and did not have immunity from a previous measles infection. The source of exposure is unknown bu t the person recently traveled internationally. Officials say eight people were identified as potentially exposed, and recommended for quarantine through June 21.
