Teens charged in Huntersville homicide

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Two Charlotte teenagers are facing murder charges in connection to a deadly shooting in May, according to the Huntersville Police Department.
Jose Quintanilla-Cordova, 19, and Dorian Jassier Tabora Oro, 19, were charged by detectives for the shooting death of 19-year-old Henr
y Leonel Vindel Betanzo.
Around 4:30 a.m. on May 3, officers responded to Atrium Health University off North Tryon Street. Betanzo was suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital by an unknown individual. He later died at the hospital from his injuries.
Detectives investigating the incident determined that the shooting occurred in Huntersville on Weller Way near Bryton Corporate Center Drive.
After further investigation, police arrested Quintanilla-Cordova and Oro. Both teens were charged with first-degree murder and three counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill.
