Police in Delaware are searching for a suspect who they said peered into the windows of multiple homes and attempted to break into one of them. According to the New Castle County Police Department, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, officers responded to a residence on Oak View Drive in the Thornwood comm unity after receiving a report of an attempted burglary. During the investigation, police said detectives found that between 12:45 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., a suspect walked through several backyards and peered into the windows of multiple residences. At one point, police said the suspect cut a window screen, broke a window, and attempted to enter one of the homes; however, they were unsuccessful and never made it into a home. At this time, police said the suspect has not been identified; however, detectives believe the suspect may have been associated with a red Honda Civic seen in the area at the time of the incident.
