A 23-year-old Coatesville man has been arrested and charged for his suspected involvement in a slaying that happened on May 31, 2026. And, police said, they are still seeking more suspects. On Tuesday, officials announced the arrest of Darius Bolden, 23, of Coatesville. He has been charged wi th murder and related offenses for the May 31, 2026 shooting death of Skyy Zayaz-Toney. However, after recovering the gold Chevy Malibu believed to have been used in this shooting, officials said, police are still seeking others that may have been involved in Zayaz-Toney’s slaying. According to officials, officers responded to the 1000 block of West Chester Road in Coatesville, at about 8:30 p.m., on May 31, 2026, to find Zayaz-Toney suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital where, officials said, he was later pronounced. At the scene, investigators recovered over two dozen spent bullet casings and fragments of bullets, officials said. Officials said they have seized a gold Chevrolet Malibu with Pennsylvania license plate NDD6740 that was used by shooters in this incident. However, they are asking anyone who may have seen this vehicle on the night of May 31, 2026, to contact police. “Darius Bolden’s arrest is a first step towards justice. We continue to actively investigate this crime because we believe there were multiple shooters. If you have information about the case, or information about the gold Chevy Malibu involved, please call the police,” said Coatesville Police Chief John Laufer in a statement. “We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone involved in this homicide is held accountable. Please check your home security systems between 8 and 10 p.m. Sunday night and contact us if you see this car drive by.” Bolden, officials said, is in police custody and is being held at Chester County Prison without bail.
