Aaron Flint, the conservative talk radio show host turned U.S. House candidate, has won Montana’s Republican Western District U.S. House primary, according to The Associated Press.  Flint had a 52% share of the first 39,000 votes counted. Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen was a distant seco nd with 22% of the early vote. Al Olszewski, an orthopedic surgeon from Kalispell, had a 19% share. Ray Curtis, a government teacher from Missoula County, had 6%. “It is the honor of a lifetime to be chosen as the Republican nominee to represent Montana,” Flint said in a statement. “Tonight, I have lots of people to thank. My wife Jessica and my children for their support, President Donald Trump, the Montana delegation and numerous county commissioners and sheriffs across the district for their endorsements, and, most importantly, the people of Montana for putting their trust in me to be the Republican nominee for Congress.” The Western District race was shaken up in early March when days before the candidate registration deadline incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke announced that he wouldn’t seek reelection, citing health reasons. Almost simultaneously, Flint announced his campaign, complete with endorsements from Zinke, President Donald Trump, Eastern District Rep. Troy Downing and U.S. Sens.
