Putting a bookmark on Arlington's 150th anniversary
Jun 02, 2026
Young readers across Arlington are invited to get a limited-edition bookmark celebrating the city’s 150th anniversary.
The bookmark designs are courtesy of sixth-grade students in the area and are available for pickup, for free, at all seven Arlington Public Library branches.
Each location w
ill feature one of the winning designs created by Arlington ISD sixth graders as part of the Arlington150 Bookmark Contest, held in celebration of the city’s 150th anniversary.
According to the library system, Arlington Mayor Jim Ross and AISD representatives selected seven winners from entries submitted across the district. They were chosen for their creativity. The students were then honored at the Arlington City Council meeting on May 19.
Library leaders said that thanks to the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation, they were able to print the winning bookmarks for those in the community to enjoy.
