The Delaware State Police is investigating an armed robbery that happened Friday evening in Wilmington. Around 5 p.m. on May 29, troopers responded to a business in the 3800 block of Kirkwood Highway after receiving an armed robbery report. When they arrived, the met with a victim who told them t hey had their electric bike stolen. According to officials, preliminary investigation revealed that the victim connected with the suspect on TikTok, and the two agreed to meet at a location on Maryland Avenue to ride their electric bikes together. Troopers said after meeting, the two rode around the area before the suspect lured the victim to the back of the business under the pretense of creating videos. Once they were behind the business, the victim told troopers that a second masked suspect approached them, displaying a handgun and demanded the victim’s electric bike. According to police, the victim complied and both suspects left the area with the stolen bike. The victim was not injured during the incident, officials said. No arrests have been made. Detectives ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact Detective M. Conway at (302) 365-8411.
