Erin Crain I spent over two decades in the Bay Area designing homes for families who had very specific expectations … and very little patience for anything less than exceptional. My practice grew entirely through referrals, which tells you something about how those projects turned out. When m y family relocated to Granite Bay, I brought that same standard with me. In Sacramento, I found a community of homeowners with incredible taste and real ambition for their spaces as well as a design community that supports one another. It’s here that I knew my Bay Area experience could add something meaningful, and where I could grow alongside talented colleagues. What defines your design philosophy? The most important element in any interior is the people who live within its walls. I design spaces that feed the spirit: rooms that feel as good on a Tuesday morning as they do when you’re entertaining on a Saturday night. I’m not interested in creating showrooms. I want your home to reflect how you actually live, but elevated. How would you describe the project featured here? This Saratoga residence is a great example of what I love to do! Layered warmth with a sense of ease. The kitchen and living spaces flow together in a way that feels natural, not forced. Rich materials, a touch of color, and enough restraint to let the architecture breathe. It’s sophisticated without being cold, which is exactly the sensibility I see resonating with homeowners here in Sacramento. What excites you about designing in the Sacramento region? The lifestyle here. Families actually use their homes … they cook together, they gather, they live in their spaces. That’s the kind of client I love working with. And honestly, there’s something exciting about building a new chapter in a market where I can bring 20+ years of experience to homeowners who are ready for it. 4208 Douglas Blvd. Granite Bay. 916-496-8680.
