(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR May 30)–Lincoln Transportation and Utilities this week announced that portions of nine streets will close beginning the week of June 1. The closures include:   North Cotner Boulevard from Adams Street to Baldwin Avenue wil l close beginning Monday, June 1, for utility work. The recommended detour is Adams Street to 70th Street. The street is scheduled to reopen Friday, June 5.  South 48th Street from Woodland to Claire avenues will have a southbound lane closure Monday, June 1, for utility work. The lane is scheduled to reopen Tuesday, June 2. North 56th Street from Logan to Kearney avenues will close Monday, June 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for crane work. Holdrege Street from Cotner Boulevard to 65th Street will have an eastbound lane closure beginning Monday, June 1. Eastbound traffic will be maintained using the center turn lane. The lane is scheduled to reopen Friday, June 12.  South 48th Street from South to Sumner streets will close beginning Tuesday, June 2, for a water main replacement. The recommended detour is Normal Boulevard to 56th Street. The work is scheduled to be completed this summer. South Street from South 49th Street to Cotner Boulevard will have a westbound lane closure beginning Tuesday, June 2, for a water main replacement. The recommended detour is 56th Street to Normal Boulevard. The work is scheduled to be completed this summer. South 84th Street from Van Dorn to South streets will have northbound lane closures beginning Tuesday, June 2, for private construction. Left turns will be prohibited for northbound and southbound traffic on 84th Street at the Van Dorn Street intersection. Northbound traffic will be diverted into the southbound lane. The lanes are scheduled to reopen July 31. South 70th Street from Pine Lake to Yankee Hill roads will close beginning Wednesday, June 3, for railroad track repairs. The recommended detour is Yankee Hill Road and South 84th Street. The street is scheduled to reopen Friday, June 5. Havelock Avenue from 62nd to 70th streets will close Saturday, June 6, from 6 to 10 a.m. for the Havelock Run. Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures.
