The Park City Police Department has received several recent reports of suspected homelessness, as cases involving people who may not have a place to live continue into the late spring. Homelessness in Park City is rare, but the Police Department has logged a series of cases in recent months. The re is not a homeless shelter in Park City. Some of the recent cases included: On Saturday, May 23, at 10:57 p.m., someone was found in a restroom at Miners Park. Public police logs did not provide details. On Thursday, May 21, at 7:48 p.m., the police were told a person had “moved into the bus stop” along Gold Dust Lane. The man had “a lot of stuff with him,” the police were told. The police logged the case as suspected vagrancy. On Wednesday, May 20, at 5:33 p.m., the police received information about what was described as “what looks like a homeless cart” in the area of a stairwell on Prospector Avenue. The person who contacted the police did not see anyone with the cart. The department logged the case as suspected vagrancy. Police officers are also watching properties for homeless people or others inside public buildings outside of operating hours. An officer, as an example, visited the transit center at 11:58 p.m. on May 24, indicating there was nobody inside even though doors and windows were not secured. The officer secured the building.
