SUNDAY 6 PM WEATHER 5-24-26 INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A really nice Memorial Day is on the way with more sun warmer temperatures. Some rain thunder will return on Wednesday.  SUNDAY EVENING/NIGHT: Any lingering spotty rain during the evening will fade away. Fair skies return with low s in the mid to upper 50s. MEMORIAL DAY: A really nice holiday is shaping up for Central Indiana.  Afternoon highs should approach 80 and the humidity won’t be too bad.  We’ll enjoy a fair amount of sunshine along with some friendly clouds for a change.   The warmest Memorial Day on record for Indianapolis was in 2018 when the high was a whopping 95.  The coldest occurred back in 1947 with a morning low of 37. The wettest was in 1996 when 1.01” of rain fell on Memorial Day.  Thankfully, we won’t be setting any records this year.  TUESDAY: Partly cloudy skies continue with highs topping out in the lower 80s.  Some spotty rain or thunder occur, especially across Southern Indiana. Most of our area should be OK. WEDNESDAY: There is a better chance of scattered rain storms in the region. Highs may be a bit cooler, mainly upper 70s. LATE WEEK NEXT WEEKEND: Temperatures are expected to turn cooler with highs falling back into the 70s and lows in the 50s.  Some rain or thunder could return by Saturday and Sunday but confidence this far out remains low. ...read more read less
