It’s almost that time of the year when locals get some extra savings on water and energy-efficient appliances. This weekend, from Saturday to Monday, Texans can buy large items (and some smaller ones) for the home and skip the sales taxes when they have the Energy Star or WaterSense label, acc ording to the state comptroller. Shoppers can buy, rent or lease products with the efficiency designation tax-free, including: •Air conditioners with a sales price of $6,000 or less •Refrigerators with a sales price of $2,000 or less •Clothes washers •Dishwashers That also goes for ceiling fans, dehumidifiers and incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs.
