(CNN)– A new report says Meta paid influencers to promote its teen safety tools.
According to watchdog group Tech Transparency Project, the effort involved hundreds of mom and family influencers.
It’s not unusual for brands to partner with influencers to promote new initiatives.
Meta says its
sponsorships over the past two years are meant to get the word out about its safer settings.
But, the report comes after juries in California and New Mexico held the company liable for addicting teens to its platforms.
