A huge indoor slide and air court park is coming to Columbia, Maryland, part of a fast-growing brand of indoor action brand called “Slick City.” This will be Slick City Action Park’s first Maryland location. The company is based in St. Louis and Nashville, and has more than 100 locatio ns either signed, open, or under construction. The Columbia location will have over 41,000 square feet of slides, air courts, toddler areas, and other attractions to entertain people of all ages. The website says it is easy for parents to slide with their children if their youngsters are too young or need a little confidence boost before they can take on a slide on their own. The slides come in a variety of shapes and sizes, many of them open, and some of them in tunnel form. Incline and speed also vary. These are dry slides, not water slides. Despite the name “Slick City,” this is not an indoor water park. Other attractions include laser tag, an arcade, swings and trapeze-like activity (large airbags cushion landings), mini-motors (kid-sized go-karts for ages 6-12 years), a sport air court (basketball on a springy, cushioned floor), and more. Prices vary by length of visit and location, and there are Junior Tickets available for ages 3 and under only, giving access to the Junior play areas only. All visitors will be required to wear CitySocks, which will also need to be purchased. Prices are not listed yet for Columbia, but both Ohio and North Carolina locations list 90-minute sessions for under $30, with CitySocks at $4.99.
