The city says, after the request of many within the community, a temporary memorial has been established at Everman Memorial Park at 501 N. Race Street. The memorial will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. until Noel is laid to rest.
Residents are welcome to leave flowers, balloons, cards and small trinkets. Electronic candles are permitted, but open flames are not allowed.
“This memorial is more than a place. It is a reminder that Noel mattered, that his life will not be forgotten, and that our community continues to grieve together. Our hearts remain with Noel, his loved ones, and every person who has carried the weight of his loss,” said the post on the city of Everman Facebook page.
The post also says that city facilities will be illuminated in light blue in honor of Noel’s favorite color, and that the public is encouraged to include blue lights in their tribute.
