RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– CRFD says first shift crews in Battalion 2 were called out to Hertford Drive Friday morning after fire tore through a shed. Firefighters arrived to the area shortly after 10:30 a.m. to find the shed fully involved with two nearby properties being threatened. Crews w ere able to quickly contain the fire and keep it from spreading, says the fire dept. No one was injured but the shed was left a total loss. The cause of the fire was due to unattended outdoor burning, says Columbia-Richland Fire Dept. CRFD reminds people to keep an eye on any debris you plan to burn outdoors, and also have a water source on hand at all times.
