The Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association on Wednesday accused Vail Resorts of violating their collective bargaining agreement by extending a time off benefit only to non-union patrols in Colorado. The union seeks arbitration, and a hearing is scheduled in September. The benefit is ca lled recovery time off, which allows non-union patrol members to take paid time off for mental health, vacation or physical rehab, the union said. Vail Resorts through a spokesperson said  the union is seeking seeking new terms, which requires a negotiation and an amendment to their agreement. The union said, “Filing for arbitration comes after numerous meetings with management and on the heels of the company publicly claiming to invest time and money into fostering a better working relationship.” The company said, “We offered to reopen their agreement to negotiate the additional time off they are seeking, but the patrol declined. Instead, they are taking this issue to arbitration under the agreement, and we’ll reach a resolution through that process.” The post Ski Patrol union takes Vail Resorts to arbitration over benefit given to non-union patrollers appeared first on Park Record. ...read more read less
