A Chester, Pennsylvania, man was extradited to Delaware on May 5 after being accused of burglarizing a nonprofit business on multiple occasions back in March, according to the Delaware State Police.
Officials said Ammar Dixon, 22, is facing charges of burglary, theft and unauthorized use of a mot
or vehicle after he unlawfully entered Conexio Care, a nonprofit mental health clinic in Claymont, multiple times during the overnight hours between March 13 and March 17.
Investigators determined that during the first incident, Dixon, who had no affiliation with the business, was confronted by an employee who was still inside the building.
Officials said Dixon ran away from the scene after stealing an access badge.
Employees later discovered Dixon had left behind a bag that had items with his personal identifiable information.
Delaware Detectives learned that over the following nights, Dixon used the stolen access badge to enter the building multiple times, rummage through offices, and steal keys to vehicles belonging to the business. Dixon then drove several of the cars before returning them to the parking garage, officials said.
On April 12, Dixon was arrested in Pennsylvania for an unrelated incident and, on May 5, he was extradited to Delaware.
Dixon was released on a $19,000 unsecured bond, according to troopers.
