A Pennsylvania mother is facing charges after officials allege that she was out making a drug deal when a fire broke out inside her home, killing her three children.
Danozjna Shalita Marjie Williams, 22, has been charged with third-degree murder, endangering the welfare of children, aggravated a
ssault, and recklessly endangering another person in connection with a deadly fire that broke out on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
The fire was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. that day and claimed the lives of three of Williams’ children who were inside at the time, officials said.
Officials stated that search warrants indicated evidence of Williams’ leaving her children unsupervised at home when the fire occurred. Police allege that Williams was gone for approximately 50 minutes to conduct a drug transaction.
Erie County District Attorney Elizabeth Hirz stated “This is a heartbreaking, but completely preventable tragedy. The evidence shows these young children were left without supervision in a situation where they needed their mother to protect them and keep them safe. That duty was abandoned, with devastating consequences.”
A preliminary arraignment was held on May 8, where Williams was denied bail.
