RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A Richmond success story reached a national audience Monday morning when "Good Morning America" featured Virginia Union University (VUU) graduate Jaden Picot. On the morning of Monday, May 11, "Good Morning America" featured the story of Picot, who was paralyzed from the che st down nearly two years ago and defied all odds when he crossed the VUU stage during the show's "Play of the Day" segment. Picot crossed the VUU stage on Saturday, May 9, using a robotic exoskeleton to receive his master’s degree in business. He hopes to use his degree to help others living with disabilities like his own. Nearly two years ago, Picot was riding his electric scooter when he was hit by a truck, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down.
