A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Saturday at 8:13 p.m. for thunderstorms and gusty winds until 10 p.m. for Yates, Seneca, Steuben and Schuyler counties."A line of heavier showers with embedded thunderstorms will move across the area between about 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. this ev ening. The line is moving east around 50 mph, and may contain brief heavy rainfall, a few cloud to ground lightning strikes and wind gusts between 30 to 40 mph. The line is expected to be near Hornell by around 845 to 9 p.m., Bath and Penn Yan around 9:15 p.m., Corning, Watkins Glen and Seneca Falls around 9:45 p.m. If outdoors remain weather aware, and remember, when thunder roars go indoors," comments the weather service. ...read more read less
