3 teens arrested for home burglary in Gloucester Township, police say

Three teens were arrested and charged after they tried to burglarize a home and steal a car in Gloucester Township in Camden County on Friday evening, police said.
Officers were called to the scene in the area of Pine Glen Drive in the town’s Sicklerville section at around 7:58 p.m. on Friday,
May 8, after a neighbor called the police and said they saw three people in ski masks enter a nearby home, police said.
The three suspects were then seen leaving the house with items and then get into a car in an attempt to steal ot, but they left the car after attempts to start it failed, police said.
Officers arrived and spotted the three fleeing on foot and began to chase after them. After a short pursuit, all three were taken into custody. The suspects have been identified two 14-year-olds and one 13-year-old, police said.
The teens remain in juvenile detention and face a number of charges, including 2nd degree burglary and 2nd degree burglary of a vehicle.
Police also said that they will “hold parents accountable when juveniles are unsupervised and engaged in criminal behavior,” but no charges on the suspects’ parents have yet been announced.

In this situation, an alert citizen directly allowed us to respond swiftly and make these arrests.
