A weekend-long road closure is underway in San Francisco as Caltrans begins the second phase of a rehabilitation project on 19th Avenue. Crews started work early Friday morning on the major roadway, which serves as a key artery through the city. This phase focuses on the southbound direction. Two of the three southbound lanes between Lincoln Way and Sloat Boulevard are closed. Earlier this month, Caltrans work centered on the northbound side. From 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. through the weekend, Lincoln Way at 19th Avenue will be closed, with detours along Irving Street. This is the second of three planned weekend closures for the project.
