(KRON) -- A suspect who allegedly tried to flee during a traffic stop, putting officers in harm's way, was shot by the Oakland Police Department Friday morning. According to OPD, patrol officers initiated a vehicle stop at 3:15 a.m. in the 1200 block of 9th Avenue. During the stop, police noticed a firearm in plain view. The suspect attempted to flee, dragging one officer and pinning another between the suspect vehicle and a parked car. Woman fatally struck after losing control of scooter: VPD It was then, police said, that one of the officers fired at the suspect, striking and wounding them. Officers performed life-saving measures to assist the suspect until paramedics arrived. Map: KRON4 Both officers were transported to a hospital and are in stable condition, police said. The suspect was also taken to a hospital and is likewise, in stable condition. In accordance with policy, both officers will be placed on paid administrative leave.
