The Sixers are bringing the playoffs back to Philadelphia this weekend, and in an effort to support those who are “committed to making our hometown a better place,” the team has given hundreds of tickets to nurses, educators and community groups citywide. “We love this city and the intensi ty and passion of our fans. We know they’ll bring it tonight and Sunday at our big playoff games at Xfinity Mobile Arena,” Josh Harris, managing partner of the Sixers said in a statement. “This is also a tremendous opportunity to welcome fans who may not have otherwise had the chance to attend, so they can experience the Philly playoff energy live. To that end, we are thrilled to partner with several leading community organizations and donate tickets to educators, frontline medical personnel, and local families for our upcoming home games. For Friday’s game, a team spokesperson said, the Sixers have given 250 tickets to frontline medical professionals at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and PennMedicine along with another 250 tickets that were given to local educators that were selected by Learn Fresh, Breakthrough of Greater Philadelphia, The School District of Philadelphia, and Camden City School District. For Sunday’s game on Mother’s Day, the team has provided 500 tickets for moms and children that were selected by Uplift Center for Grieving Children, Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia, La Liga del Barrio, and Apologues. ...read more read less
