Woman arrested for impersonating student at NYC high school, police sources say

A 28-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly impersonating a student at a high school in the Bronx, according to police sources.
Kacy Claassen was arrested Monday afternoon at the campus of Herbert H. Lehman High School in Pelham Bay, where six schools are located. Claasen, who lives in the Bro
nx, was reportedly impersonating a student attending Westchester Square Academy.
The name of the student Claassen was using was not immediately available. Police sources said Claassen may have been at the school as part of a benefits fraud scheme.
Claassen was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal impersonation, possession of a forged instrument and criminal trespassing. Attorney information for her was not available.
In response to the incident, New York City Public Schools said in a statement that “enrollment fraud is a serious crime that fundamentally undermines New York City Public School values. The NYPD is actively investigating these allegations and will pursue all appropriate legal action against those responsible.”
