(KRON) -- The Vallejo Police Department is investigating the city's third homicide of the year after a shooting left a woman critically injured Friday evening. VPD was alerted at 5:35 p.m. from a local hospital that a woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound had been dropped off there by an unknown person. According to police, that person left before hospital staff could contact VPD. The woman later died from her injuries, and her identity is not yet being released, said Vallejo police. The motive and circumstances behind the shooting are not yet clear.
