Frosty weekend then wetter early next week | May 2, 2026

TODAY
A chilly start gives way to a cool afternoon with a lot of clouds around, and there could still be a stray sprinkle early in the morning before that fades out. Highs reach the mid 50s, with a light wind becoming north to northwest around 5 to 10 mph. It is us
able for daytime plans, but it will not have much spring warmth to it, so layers still make sense.
TONIGHT
Partly cloudy and cold again, with lows near the upper 30s to around 40 and a light north northwest breeze easing late. Quiet weather settles in, and this looks like another calm night across central Indiana.
TOMORROW
A better looking day with more sunshine and a milder feel by afternoon. Highs climb into the low 60s, with a southwest breeze around 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to the mid 20s. This should be the nicest stretch of the weekend for being outside, even if it still runs a little cooler than average for early May.
TOMORROW NIGHT
Clouds increase and there is a chance for showers and a few thunderstorms, mainly in the evening and early overnight. Lows settle near the low 50s, with a south southwest wind around 10 mph and a few gusts near 20 mph. It does not look like an all-night washout, but the dry stretch starts to loosen up here.
MONDAY
Milder and breezy with at least some sunshine through the first part of the day, then the chance for showers and thunderstorms builds later in the afternoon. Highs reach the mid 70s, with a southwest wind around 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to around 30 mph. Most of the day still looks workable, but late-day outdoor plans will need a weather eye.
MONDAY NIGHT
Scattered showers and thunderstorms remain in the picture, with a mild night and lows around the upper 50s. A southwest breeze near 10 to 15 mph keeps the air moving. The broader setup suggests rain may become a bigger story than severe weather overall, although a stronger storm cannot be ruled out.
TUESDAY
This looks like the wettest day of the run. Expect mostly cloudy skies with showers becoming more likely, and a few thunderstorms are possible as well, especially later in the day. Highs reach the mid 60s, with a south southwest breeze around 10 mph and gusts up to around 20 mph. Plan for a damp, gray feel that will make outdoor plans much tougher.
TUESDAY NIGHT
Showers likely continue, and a rumble of thunder is still possible. Lows drop into the upper 40s, with a north wind around 10 mph and a few gusts near 20 mph. Cooler air starts working in overnight, and roads may stay wet through much of the night.
WEDNESDAY
Still unsettled, though not quite as mild, with more clouds than sun and scattered showers around. Highs top out in the low to mid 60s, with a north breeze around 5 to 10 mph. This is a cooler, more raw kind of day compared with the brief warmup early in the week.
7 DAY FORECAST
The weekend starts cool, with frost early Saturday and a nicer but still below normal Sunday, then next week turns milder but much more active. Monday and especially Tuesday into Wednesday carry the better rain chances, and the Indianapolis forecast discussion also flags the potential for heavy rain at times with hydrologic concerns more notable than the severe threat in the broader pattern. Temperatures briefly rebound into the 70s Monday before easing back to the 60s and then 50s later in the week, with Thursday still carrying a lower-end shower chance before a brighter Friday. Since this is an ahead-of-time Saturday morning version, the exact timing of each rain window could still wobble a bit by a few hours.
