(KRON) -- A group of teenagers, including two from the San Francisco Bay Area, were attempting to shoot a rapper during a pop-up party in Sacramento County when innocent bystanders were struck by bullets, investigators said. One of the bystanders, a woman who was attempting to leave in an Uber, was
caught in crossfire and died at the scene.
The pop-up party shooting happened at 4366 Auburn Boulevard in Sacramento County around midnight on March 15, sheriff's officials said.
Large crowds had gathered inside and outside the Auburn Boulevard building for the party when a gun battle broke out between the group from the Bay Area and the rapper's group, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said.
"Detectives learned one group was waiting for a rapper and his associates to exit the party. When they saw the group, five suspects exited a vehicle and opened fire into the crowd," SCSO wrote. Witnesses said about 70 rounds were fired.
"Tragically, the gunfire struck two uninvolved victims who were passengers in an Uber attempting to leave. The victims had no affiliation with either group and were caught in the crossfire," SCSO wrote.

The female passenger died from gunshot wounds. A second passenger was rushed to a hospital, and he is expected to survive.
Detectives launched a weeks-long investigation to find out who was responsible for the violence. SCSO said detectives were able to identify and track down all five suspects.
