WASHINGTON, DC – The Department of Justice is reapplying old practices in an effort to strengthen the federal death penalty. In a statement Friday, the DOJ said it’s bringing back the firing squad as a method of execution as well as readopting lethal injection. Other execution methods suggested by the DOJ include electrocution and gas asphyxiation. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has authorized seeking death sentences against nine people.
