HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Fraudsters charged over $5,000 to a Home Depot credit card they took out in someone else's name, per Hanover County authorities. On Thursday, April 23, the Hanover County Sheriff's Office took to Facebook to ask for the public's help in identifying two suspects in a c redit card fraud investigation. According to authorities, the suspects opened a Home Depot credit card in an unidentified victim's name on March 27. That same day, around 7:30 p.m., they made two purchases at the Home Depot at 7251 Bell Creek Rd. in the Mechanicsville area. They purchased nearly $4,500 worth of flooring, an 18-pack of toilet paper and cordless tools. The total amount spent was $5,322.13, per the sheriff's office. The victim then received the physical credit card in the mail on Monday, April 6. Authorities shared images of the suspects, captured on surveillance footage taken from the Mechanicsville Home Depot.
