(KRON) -- Four men allegedly tied to a January smash-and-grab robbery at a business inside San Jose’s Westfield Valley Fair mall have been arrested, police announced Thursday. The strong-armed robbery occurred just before 1 p.m. on Jan. 11. The suspects entered the business and used a sledgehamme r to break into a display case before stealing thousands of dollars worth of high-end watches, the San Jose Police Department said. Automated license plate reader cameras tracked two vehicles believed to be associated with the robbery. However, police said by the time officers found the vehicles in San Jose and Fremont, they were unoccupied. Detectives investigating the case identified the four suspects as: Devin Hairston, 31, of Oakland Charlie Jones, 23, of Oakland Emilio Sanchez, 24, of Hayward Roman Camarena, 18, of Stockton Stolen UPS truck pursuit leads to standoff in Fremont San Jose police learned Hairston and Camarena were also suspects in a separate armed robbery that occurred on Dec. 31, 2025, at a business in the 300 block of McKee Road. “In this incident, the suspects also used a sledgehammer to force entry into a secured jewelry case, taking several hundred thousand dollars’ worth of jewelry,” SJPD wrote. Hairston was arrested Jan. 13 in Bakersfield for an unrelated crime. On March 18, Sanchez was found and taken into custody in Hayward. Jones was arrested April 14 in Oakland. Camarena was arrested by San Leandro police for an unrelated crime and is awaiting extradition to Santa Clara County.
