The Ponder Town Council is asking voters on May 2 to consider two sales and use taxes, reauthorizing one for road repairs and increasing the other by 0.0025% to the state maximum of 0.0175%. Ponder Mayor Nick McGregor explains the propositions here.
Proposition A
The reauthorization of the local sales and use tax in the Town of Ponder at the rate of one-fourth of one percent to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets. The tax expires on the fourth anniversary of the date of this election unless the imposition of the tax is reauthorized.
Proposition B
The adoption of a local sales and use tax in the Town of Ponder at the rate of one and three-fourths percent. This is a tax increase.
