The FBI and police are investigating a Brinks armored truck robbery in Northeast Philadelphia. The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 21, shortly before 9:45 a.m. Police said two men armed with assault rifles robbed a Brinks truck on the 7200 block of Torresdale Avenue. The suspects fled the sce ne with more than $1 million, sources told NBC10. “I seen the guy with the gun. He had the gun pointed at the guy, just for like a second,” a witness told NBC10. “That seems like an inside job to me. That’s a lot of money. That’s an inside job. That’s all I can say.” No one was injured during the incident, according to police. Investigators said they later found the suspected getaway vehicle under I-95 near Fairmount Avenue and Hancock Street. They took the vehicle away Tuesday afternoon. No arrests have been made and police have not released a description of the suspects. The FBI has taken the lead on the case.
