VALDESE, N.C. – A firefighter was injured while battling a house fire in Burke County on Saturday night. Firefighters responded to Mountain Ridge Circle in Valdese around 7:15 p.m. Crews quickly initiated an attack to put out the fire while also requesting more units to respond for additional fi re suppression and manpower. One firefighter was injured at the scene and transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. Units from the Valdese Fire Department, George Hildebran Fire/Rescue, Triple Community Fire Department, Icard Township Fire/Rescue, Salem Fire/Rescue, and the North Carolina Fire Department responded to help put the fire out.
