(BCN)-- A 76-year-old driver was arrested Friday for vehicular manslaughter and speeding after running over a pedestrian on a sidewalk in San Francisco's Chinatown last month, police said.
Zhuo Ming Lu was attempting to park at Grant Avenue and Jackson Street about 7:43 a.m. on March 27 when the ve
hicle struck two pedestrians and then went into a building, police said. One of the pedestrians died.
SF hit-and-run driver charged with murder
The area is a busy commercial corridor with high pedestrian foot traffic, according to Walk San Francisco, which said the death was the sixth pedestrian fatality in six weeks.
The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
