Apr 17, 2026
The MAPS 3 northwest Oklahoma City wellness facility will soon carry the name of a former mayor and his late wife.
City officials announced the MAPS 3 Health and Wellness Center at 11501 N. Rockwell Ave. will be renamed the Mick and Terri Cornett MAPS 3 Health and Wellness Center, honoring their
contributions to the city’s health and cultural landscape.
A public ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, with remarks from Mayor David Holt and other community leaders.
Mick Cornett, who served from 2004 to 2018, helped champion the inclusion of multiple senior wellness centers in the MAPS 3 initiative. The centers were designed to promote long-term health and social connection, with an additional facility planned under MAPS 4.

The North Rockwell center, which opened in 2017, offers fitness classes, aquatics, art programming and other wellness services, and has become a hub for active aging in Oklahoma City.
The naming was recommended by the OKC Parks Commission and the facility’s operator, Healthy Living and Fitness.
