Trumer Brewery begins layoffs amid plans to leave Bay Area

(KRON) -- Trumer Brewery has begun initiating layoffs from its Berkeley brewhouse and taproom as it gears up to leave the Bay Area after more than two decades. The beloved Bay Area beer brand was acquired by Firestone Walker in March.

The sale and relocation of the brand will see 27 people lose their job at the Trumer Brewery on Fourth Street in Berkeley. Another six people will lose their jobs at the adjoining brewery and taproom, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN).
The layoffs, which were announced earlier this week, are set to take place at the end of May.
