FRIDAY
COMMUNITY
Future of Our Roadless Forests Community MeetingI very much enjoy hiking, biking, camping, and just generally breathin’ clean air throughout the good ol’ PNW wilderness. Which is why this one hits close to home. Currently, a proposed rollback of the 2001 Roadless Rule could open millions of acres of national forest (including ~2 million in Washington) to logging and mining. If you’re interested in learning about what’s at stake and why these “roadless areas” matter for clean water, wildlife habitat, outdoor access, and more, this community meeting breaks it all down. Plus, if you’ve got something to say, members of the public have the option to share two minutes of public testimony that will be submitted directly to the federal government.
