Kyle Kollmorgen (File photo courtesy of Nebraska Athletics)LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 17)–Former Nebraska football player Kyle Kollmorgen passed away on Monday. Kollmorgen, who played in the Husker football program from 1997 to 2001 and lettered three times, died from an apparent brain aneurysm, accordi ng to an obituary. He was an all-state football selection as a lineman at Lincoln Southeast before embarking on his college career with Nebraska, where he served on NU’s PAT and field goal units for four season.  In his career, Kollmorgen posted 35 career pancakes.  He graduated from UNL in December 2001. Kollmorgen was the president of Kollmorgen Benefits, Inc, a Lincoln-based independent insurance and financial consulting firm.  He leaves behind his wife Kristy, a daughter, Payton, and son, Brecken. Services for Kyle Kollmorgen are set for Monday at 10:30am at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1800 South 84th Street. He was 47-years-old.   ...read more read less
