MUNCIE, Ind. — The Muncie Mama’s Market will feature more than 115 curated vendors April 19 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds, offering a high-energy shopping experience for the community.
Admission is $4, and children 12 and younger are admitted free.
The market will span two buildings and include handmade goods, specialty items and food vendors. The first 20 attendees in line at each building will receive a goodie bag with gifts and coupons from participating vendors.
The event is held twice a year, in the spring ahead of Mother’s Day and again in late fall for the Christmas season.
Kyla Jo Norris, host and organizer of the Muncie Mama’s Market, created the event to support women and celebrate creativity. Norris, a local artist, photographer and mother, said she built the market to provide a space she wished existed when she was a small business owner and to support her daughters, Lilly and Rory, while bringing a unique event to Muncie.
Norris said vendors are carefully selected to ensure a diverse and engaging shopping experience.
“It’s like bringing the best of Etsy to life, with the added bonus of in-person connection and lots of hands-on experiences,” Norris said. She added that shoppers can find “meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces you simply won’t find in a traditional store.”
Interactive offerings include a jewelry charm bar, permanent jewelry, a free digital photo booth and a T-shirt bar where visitors can design custom apparel.
Additional activities include a make-your-own book sling station, customizable “forever flowers,” a potato bar and hair sparkle services. The market also features a hat and bag bar with patches and a pottery vending machine.
Vendors will showcase a range of art forms, including glass, painting, drawing, ceramics, wire art, woodwork, crochet, jewelry, metalwork, macramé and printmaking. This year’s market also includes a teen artist specializing in paintings and clay figurines.
Children’s items will include crochet animals, sensory bins, handmade clothing, wooden toys and educational kits.
Brittany Girr, owner of Miss Yellow Shoes, a handcrafted brand specializing in animal dolls, accessories and small-batch sewn goods, has participated in the market since its first event in November 2024. She said her products are designed to encourage imagination and creativity.
Norris said the most rewarding aspect of the event is seeing community support and engagement.
