Lincoln Police Cruiser (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 16)–Police arrested a 52-year-old Lincoln man, after being accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting two girls. Court records say that back in August 2024, a 6-year-old girl was interviewed at the BraveBe Child Advocacy Center, where she told LPD investigators Cary Pickrel repeatedly sexually assaulted her.  A few days later, Pickrel admitted to police he had a drinking problem, but denied any sexual contact with the girl or any child.  Then on June 30, 2025, a 12-year-old girl was interviewed at the BraveBe Child Advocacy Center. An arrest affidavit says the girl said Pickrel had also repeatedly sexually assaulted her when she was around six or seven years old until she was nine. Then on July 30, 2025,  Pickrel was arrested on a warrant from an offense in Salina, Kansas. He was transported to Lancaster County Jail and later charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child, court documents show. A warrant for Pickrel’s arrest in this case was issued March 25, and he was arrested Tuesday. He was charged with first and third-degree sexual assault of a child. Pickrel’s bond was set at 10% of $1 million, and his next hearing is scheduled for May 14. ...read more read less
