There’s no horsing around with this NYPD officer. NBC New York cameras were on the Upper West Side for a separate story when an equine interaction with a suspected thief broke out around 11 a.m. According to police, a suspect swiped a purse from a victim near West 72nd Street and Columbus Avenu e. After taking the purse, the suspect ran off, with the officer on horseback in pursuit. The chase went up the sidewalks and through the street, and the NYPD mounted unit officer finally caught up with the suspect and made the arrest. It wasn’t clear what charges would be filed.
