Two men and a woman were arrested in connection with a stabbing and an assault that happened at the Showboat Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in early April. The Atlantic City Police Department said 31-year-old Kiandre Harris, 38-year-old Quheem Whitehead, and 41-year-old Marquita Wilson were charged with aggravated assault in connection with the incident that left one of the suspects and a 38-year-old woman injured on April 5, 2026. According to a spokesperson, officers responded to one of the resort’s restaurants around 10:37 p.m. in reference to a stabbing incident. Police said when they arrived, they found a woman who had been assaulted, and first responders transported her to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers also learned that a man had been stabbed, but he had left the scene before police arrived. The man, who was later identified as Whitehead — one of the three suspects arrested — also went to a hospital suffering from a non-life threatening injury. Investigators said that after an initial verbal altercation, Whitehead chased the victim and struck her several times causing her to fall. After falling, Wilson kicked the victim in the face multiple times, according to officials. Police said during that assault, Harris stabbed Whitehead twice in the back with a pocketknife. Whitehead and Wilson were arrested on April 9 in Newark, New Jersey, and Harris was arrested in Maryland on April 15. “Our officers and detectives worked tirelessly to quickly identify and charge those responsible for this incident,” said Atlantic City Police Chief James Sarkos. “Through strong collaboration with the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Forces, the suspects were tracked down and brought to justice.” A spokesperson for Showboat Resort sent a statement to NBC10 addressing the incident. “We immediately turned the case over to the Atlantic City Police Department, including video footage from our security cameras and a full investigation is under way. This was an extremely isolated incident for the Showboat. We take the safety of our guests and staff very seriously,” the spokesperson said. Harris also faces charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon. The three suspects will ultimately be booked into the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Atlantic City Police Department Criminal Investigations Section at 609-347-5766 or submit a text anonymously to tip411 (847411).  Begin the text with ACPD. ...read more read less
