Our region lost two good friends last week – both longtime community leaders, both widely recognized for their service to others. Irma Leal, matriarch of Leal’s Mexican Food Restaurant, died April 6 at age 93. Martha Hardwick, a school teacher, amateur historian and foodie for fun, died April 7 at age 78.
