COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Wednesday (April 15) is the deadline to file your federal taxes here in the Palmetto State. But the South Carolina Department of Revenue has extended the South Carolina Individual Income Tax Return deadline to October 15. This comes as lawmakers didn’t pass a bill to co nform with the current internal revenue code including the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Officials say the state tax extension applies only to the deadline to file your return, not to pay what you owe. You will owe penalties if you don’t pay at least 90% of your 2025 tax liability by Wednesday.
