LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A small plane crashed near an airport in Lincoln County, according to the Lincolnton Fire Department. It happened Friday afternoon in a field near the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Regional Airport in Iron Station, North Carolina. The fire department said one person was extricate d and is receiving care. Their current condition is unknown. A medical helicopter was on scene for transport. The events leading up to the crash are unclear at this time or if there are any other patients or injuries.
