Emergency closure DOTD also announced an emergency alternating lane closure to repair parts of Highway 405 in the Modeste area of Ascension Parish. According to a release, the lane closures spanned from Highway 1 near Donaldsonville to the Ascension and Iberville parishes line. Per the release, the alternating lane closure was set to continue through Friday, April 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as crews addressed the pavement failure. The area has gained traffic as trucks have been traveling the route as pre-construction work has begun at the Hyundai Steel mill and CF Industries sites. The closure is necessary to replace 12 power poles along Highway 73. Intermittent eastbound and westbound lane closures along Highway 938/West New River Street/Coontrap Road, from the split to Tucker Road, taking place Sunday, April 19, through Thursday, April 23, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The closure is needed to replace 56 power poles along Highway 938. Intermittent east and west lane closures along Highway 30 west of Williams Road, taking place Wednesday, April 15 through Thursday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Crews will replace power poles along Highway 30.
