A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 12:41 p.m. for elevated fire danger until 4 p.m. for Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Steuben and Schuyler counties."The combination of dry fine fuels, southerly wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph, and relative humidity values as low
as 25 to 40% will contribute to an elevated risk for fire spread this afternoon for portions of the Finger Lakes Region and the Central-Southern Tier of New York.
